MMARL is involved in an intense educational activity. The members of the group carry
out several fundamental and optional subjects in the field of Microbiology, for the Bachelor's
and Master's Degree Courses in Biological Sciences, Bachelor's Degree in Environmental
and Natural Sciences, and in PhD courses and specialization schools.

Research

At the Laboratory of Molecular and Antibiotic Medical Microbiology Resistance (MMAR)
of the Department of Biomedical and Biotechnological Sciences (BIOMETEC) of the University of Catania
is a group of researchers actively involved in research in microbiology
and applied in the biomedical and biotechnological fields.

Laboratory

The Laboratory of Molecular and Resistant Antibiotic Medical Microbiology (MMAR), of the Department of Biomedical and Biotechnological Sciences (BIOMETEC), of the University of Catania, is one of the institutions in Italy in the field of the surveillance of antibiotic-resistant pathogens.

Coordination

The structure is coordinated by Stefania Stefani, Professor of Microbiology and head of the Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology, which has a long experience as a principal researcher of projects financed by National and International funding agencies.

Advice

The MMAR includes personnel and infrastructure to perform different biological-molecular techniques; provides advice for researchers in the development of different biological-molecular approaches. The laboratories are fully equipped to carry out studies of Microbiology and Molecular Biology.
